Emma Raducanu has achieved one of her seasonal objectives with the conclusion of the WTA Tour. The British tennis prodigy concluded her season prematurely in early October due to health reasons.
Raducanu’s journey in the campaign had its ups and downs. She secured notable victories at Wimbledon and the US Open, reaffirming her status as Britain’s top player. However, she faced fitness challenges towards the end, notably evident at the Ningbo Open where she required medical assistance and lost her initial match in three sets.
After encountering these obstacles, Raducanu opted to end her season early while confirming her commitment to coach Francisco Roig for the upcoming year. This decision jeopardized her goal of being seeded for the Australian Open.
Exiting her last two tournaments of the year ranked 29th, Raducanu’s aspiration of breaking into the top 32 became uncertain. With no additional ranking points added post-withdrawal, she awaited confirmation of achieving this milestone.
As the season wraps up, Raducanu concludes the year as the 29th-ranked player globally, positioning her well for potential seeding in Melbourne unless she faces tough challenges at the beginning of 2026 events.
Raducanu had set her sights on being seeded at the Australian Open back in early October, emphasizing the importance of a high ranking for better opportunities in the draw.
Expressing her desire to be a role model, Raducanu highlighted the significance of inspiring younger generations through her actions on and off the court. She stressed the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and setting a good example for aspiring players.
Currently, Raducanu stands as the sole Brit within the top 32 of the WTA rankings, with Aryna Sabalenka holding the top spot this year. Sky has introduced a discounted Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the upcoming season, offering a substantial number of live matches across various leagues.
Sky’s coverage will include at least 215 live Premier League games in the upcoming season, a significant increase from previous years.
