A young man discovered his mother deceased on Christmas morning. The previous night, Louise McKenzie, 38, had visited a doctor for an inflamed pancreas diagnosis, reassured it was not serious. They completed last-minute holiday shopping before returning home in Bootle, Merseyside.
Louise began feeling unwell, resting due to dizziness and a headache. Her son Reece Barrett, 18, recounted how he returned home after celebrating with friends to find her seemingly asleep. However, upon waking the next morning, he found her lifeless on the bathroom floor.
Despite efforts to revive her, Louise was pronounced dead at home, with authorities called to ensure no foul play. Reece, a civil servant, fondly remembered his mother as a caring and humorous person. The cause of death was suspected to be a brain haemorrhage.
Reece, now residing with his girlfriend’s family, reflected on missed symptoms and regrets about not seeking immediate medical attention. A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated to assist Reece in securing a new home for himself and his dog, Virgil, after losing his mother and facing financial challenges.
Acknowledging the support, Reece expressed gratitude for the assistance during this difficult period of transition in his life. He emphasized the profound impact of his mother’s sudden passing and the overwhelming changes it brought to his daily life.
