Celebrating her 36th birthday recently, Letby is serving 15 whole-life orders at Unit 4 of the Surrey prison. Sources suggest that this new job could help Letby gain favor among other inmates, potentially making her well-liked within the prison community.
Despite being detained since 2020, Letby was swiftly granted enhanced prisoner status shortly after her sentencing, allowing her to take on the librarian role. This status also entitles her to double the standard allowance for weekly visits. Letby, who received 15 whole-life sentences for murdering seven babies and attempting to murder seven more while working as a nurse at the Countess of Chester Hospital, spent her birthday alone behind bars, receiving letters from twisted fans.
Her barrister, Mark McDonald, mentioned that Letby has been corresponding with individuals outside the prison through letters and cards, even though these interactions serve as harsh reminders of her incarceration.
