A teenage girl was swiftly taken to the hospital following an incident where she reportedly fell from an ambulance on a busy motorway. The occurrence took place on the M6 southbound at junction 32, connecting to the M55, during the evening hours of Tuesday. Fortunately, the girl’s injuries are believed to be minor, according to reports.
Authorities from Lancashire Police responded to the scene of a road traffic collision, leading to a temporary closure of the motorway as they assessed the situation. Commuters were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the area while the incident was being resolved.
The incident was initially reported at 5:17 pm, and by approximately 7 pm, all lanes were reopened for traffic flow, as stated by Lancs Live. In an updated statement, Lancashire Police confirmed that the teenage girl had fallen from the back of the ambulance onto the M6 southbound to M55 slip road, but thankfully, she did not sustain severe injuries.
In a separate tragic event, a woman in her 60s lost her life following a crash involving three vehicles in a layby. The collision, which occurred at around 8:50 am on a Monday, involved a grey Porsche Cayenne, a red Fiat 500, and a white Volvo Tipper lorry. The woman, who was outside her Fiat at the time of the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency responders.
Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances of the crash and are urging anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to come forward to assist in the inquiry. The driver of the Porsche, a man in his sixties, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail pending further investigation. Witnesses are encouraged to provide any pertinent information by contacting the authorities through various channels, including email or the non-emergency phone number.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has also requested individuals with dashcam footage related to the incident to upload it for further examination.
