“Ryanair Expands Low-Cost Winter Flights to Sunny Murcia”

Ryanair has unveiled new flight options to a sunny destination where temperatures in December can reach up to 18C, starting at just £15. The airline is expanding its services at Murcia airport this winter by 37%, adding four routes, including a fresh route to London Stansted with four weekly flights, along with increased flights to Birmingham and Dublin.

The initial airfares for trips to and from Murcia are as low as £15 from Stansted. This expansion is expected to generate more than 450 local jobs and offer travelers a wider range of choices at competitive rates, as stated by Alejandra Ruiz, the spokesperson for Ryanair in Spain.

Ryanair’s winter schedule for 2025/2026 in Murcia aims to enhance connectivity during the off-peak season, contributing to the creation of over 450 local employment opportunities and promoting year-round tourism in the region.

Despite the growth of Ryanair’s operations at Murcia Airport this winter, the airline has been compelled to reduce one million seats from its overall Spain schedule for the 2025/2026 winter season due to significant increases in AENA charges (+6.62%) and ineffective incentive programs, which are rendering regional airports financially unsustainable.

While Ryanair has been a proponent of and investor in regional airports to facilitate low-cost travel for tourism and job creation, the airline finds it unsustainable to continue investing in airports where growth is impeded by uncompetitive charges.

Murcia is renowned for its cultural heritage, pleasant weather, historical significance, local cuisine, and beautiful beaches.
