Sky has revealed upcoming changes to its TV channel lineup, set to take effect soon. Sky Showcase and Sky Max are scheduled to shut down, ceasing broadcasting on Tuesday, February 24. However, subscribers need not fret as Sky is reintroducing the beloved Sky One channel to replace the outgoing services.
The relaunched Sky One will debut with a range of must-watch comedy and entertainment programs, including new shows like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby. Additionally, viewers can look forward to familiar favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs.., The Paper, and Ted.
In an exciting development, Sky One will become the new home of Saturday Night Live UK, expected to premiere later this year. Carli Kerr, the Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, expressed enthusiasm for the channel’s relaunch, emphasizing its focus on delivering high-quality entertainment and original content.
Scheduled to launch on channel 106 on Tuesday, February 24, Sky One will be accompanied by the introduction of a new plan called Ultimate TV. Priced at £24 per month, this plan offers access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app. Subscribers will also enjoy over 130 premium channels, including Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime.
Moreover, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will gain access to a dedicated Disney movie channel on Sky Cinema within the TV guide, streamlining the viewing experience for Hollywood movie enthusiasts. The plan’s comprehensive offerings cater to a wide range of entertainment preferences, making it an attractive option for new and existing customers.
