“Coronation Street Actress Revealed as Mother of Well-Known Actors”

Coronation Street fans may be surprised to learn that Katy Cavanagh, who portrayed Julie Carp on the show, is the mother of two well-known actors. The 52-year-old actress played Julie from 2008 to 2015 and returned to the ITV soap last year for Eileen Grimshaw’s departure storyline, which was acted by Sue Cleaver.

In a dramatic twist, Katy’s character Julie was written off the show after revealing her cancer diagnosis. Apart from Coronation Street, Katy has also been recognized for her work in The Cops, The Bill, Bob and Rose, and Murder on the Blackpool Express.

But Katy is not the only one in her family with acting talent. She and her producer husband Chris Jupe are proud parents to three children, including their actor sons Noah, 20, and Jacobi, 12. Both Noah and Jacobi recently starred in the film Hamnet alongside Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, and Joe Alwyn.

In the movie, Jacobi portrayed the character of Hamnet Shakespeare, William and Agnes’ son and Judith’s twin. Meanwhile, Noah took on the role of Hamlet.

Before Hamnet, Jacobi appeared in the 2023 Disney film Peter Pan and Wendy as Michael Darling, as well as in TV series like Britannia, Tom Jones, and Before. On the other hand, Noah has an impressive acting resume.

He was part of the thriller A Quiet Place and its sequel A Quiet Place Part II with Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, and Cillian Murphy, playing the character Marcus Abbott, son of Evelyn and Lee. Noah also played Henry Fraser in The Undoing alongside Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, and featured in Suburbicon with Matt Damon and Julianne Moore.

Noah also gained acclaim for his role in The Night Manager as Daniel Roper and in the movie Ford v Ferrari.

Noah shared in an interview with Variety about his family’s background in the entertainment industry: “My mum was an actress for a while, my dad was a producer, been an AD, been on a film set his whole life, so we’re a very film family. We’re very savvy in terms of the industry.”

He further explained how having knowledgeable parents was beneficial when he started as a young actor: “It was very helpful with me working as a kid because my parents would be on set and they know what they were doing, and they’d know about all the different intricacies of being on set.”

Recently, Katy proudly posed with her sons at the 2026 BAFTA Tea Party in Beverly Hills, a prestigious event held at the Four Seasons Hotel. This event celebrates the year’s cinematic successes and precedes the renowned BAFTA Film Awards, which often predict Oscar winners.
