“Alanis Morissette Sues Ex-Tour Manager for Extortion”

Alanis Morissette has taken legal action against her former tour manager, accusing her of engaging in a calculated scheme to extort money by threatening to falsely implicate the singer in drug trafficking. Morissette filed a lawsuit in California, alleging that Keren Urinov demanded a lengthy employment contract and substantial compensation under the threat of reporting Morissette to British authorities for drug-related offenses.

Urinov, who previously worked for Live Nation in Israel, was hired temporarily as a tour manager for Morissette’s global tour in 2025. During a trip from the UK to Spain for a concert, Urinov was arrested at an airport after authorities found drugs in her possession. She later admitted ownership of the drugs, but was released after showing her medical marijuana license.

Following the tour’s conclusion, Urinov allegedly sent a series of threatening letters to Morissette, demanding a 15-year contract with lucrative financial terms, including bonuses and immigration assistance to work in the United States. The lawsuit also highlighted instances where Urinov’s management was deemed inadequate, such as mishandling finances and providing false information about her past criminal record.

Morissette stated that she was compelled to take legal action to expose Urinov’s extortion attempts and ensure accountability. The singer emphasized that she refuses to be coerced into a prolonged partnership with an incompetent blackmailer and is seeking resolution through a jury trial. Efforts to reach Urinov and Morissette’s representatives for comment have been unsuccessful.
