“Malin + Goetz Enters Administration, UK Stores Close”

Malin + Goetz, a popular beauty brand, has entered administration, leading to the closure of its seven retail stores in the UK. The affected stores are located in various areas of London, including Seven Dials, Soho, Spitalfields, Islington, Canary Wharf, Battersea Power Station, and Borough Yards, impacting over 70 employees.

Additionally, online orders on the Malin + Goetz website have been temporarily halted, with a message informing customers of the pause in services. However, consumers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers like Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.

In a statement to TheIndustry.beauty, a spokesperson for Malin+Goetz explained that after a thorough business review and exploring all options, the company made the difficult decision to place its UK operations into administration, resulting in the closure of all UK stores and the head office. The spokesperson expressed regret over the job losses but emphasized the necessity of the decision given the circumstances.

While the company plans to bring its website back online following a brief maintenance period, the exact duration remains unclear. Malin + Goetz, founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, initially offered six products catering to all skin types before expanding its product range to include fragrances, body care items, and other beauty products.
