“Sky Cinema Family: New Channel Lineup Launches April 30”

Sky subscribers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a television treat this week as the company is set to revamp its channel lineup. Sky has officially announced the merger of Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) with Sky Cinema Family, a change that will take effect on April 30.

Despite the consolidation, Sky reassures customers that the move aims to streamline services by creating a unified hub for family-friendly films on channel 304. Following the transition, viewers can expect to access popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all in one place.

While the removal of the standalone Sky Cinema Animation channel may seem like a loss, Sky confirms that all content previously available on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family. Additionally, for fans of Sky Cinema Animation, the channel will make a temporary return during school holidays to entertain kids. The channel is scheduled to be available from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

In other news, Sky has ventured into the home security market by introducing new smart devices. Customers can now subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month, with a £15 upfront fee. This system includes features such as full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customizable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.

For those seeking enhanced functionalities, Sky offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront cost. This package includes an indoor camera and additional app controls, such as scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s commitment to making premium smart technology more accessible. He highlighted Sky’s focus on delivering valued features that are easy to use, manage, and affordable for customers.
