“Oregon Hit by Magnitude 6 Earthquake: No Major Damage Reported”

The state of Oregon in the United States recently felt the impact of a magnitude 6 earthquake, according to official reports. The earthquake, as documented by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), occurred at 7:25 pm local time on Thursday, January 15, approximately 183 miles from Bandon, Oregon.

Though residents along the Oregon coastline experienced tremors, there have been no significant reports of structural damage. The epicenter of the earthquake was pinpointed 295 km west of Bandon, Oregon, with a depth of around 10 km beneath the earth’s surface, as confirmed by the USGS.

As of now, no tsunami warning has been issued by the USGS. However, there is a possibility of aftershocks being felt in the region over the next week.

Following the confirmation of the earthquake, individuals living in Oregon have been sharing their experiences on social media. While some, like a user near the base of the Cascades, did not feel the quake, others from locations such as Newberg and Eugene in Oregon reported feeling the tremors.
