“BT Broadband Customers to Enjoy BT Mobile SIM Deals”

UK households using BT Broadband services will soon benefit from a surprise enhancement as BT Mobile prepares to re-enter the UK market. The company had stopped accepting new customers in 2023 to focus on its EE network brand, but now there is a shift in strategy. BT has announced that its existing broadband customers will have access to BT-branded SIM deals once again.

While specific details are yet to be disclosed, this move signifies BT’s intent to reinforce the presence of its well-established brand, which had taken a back seat to EE in recent years. CEO Allison Kirkby, who assumed the role in 2024, aims to revitalize BT’s position among UK households to prevent the brand from losing visibility.

Kirkby expressed during an event at Wembley that after significant investments in their networks, the time has come to further invest in their brands, products, and services. The reintroduction of BT into the market will bring it into direct competition with major providers like Vodafone and O2, as well as budget-friendly networks such as Tesco Mobile and SMARTY.

Although pricing details have not been released, BT plans to offer bundled packages that include broadband, landline, and mobile SIM services on a single monthly bill. Industry analyst Paolo Pescatore views this move as an effort to stay relevant in a fiercely competitive telecoms sector.

Pescatore highlighted the importance of execution in proving the network’s ability to meet real-world demands, emphasizing that success hinges on demonstrating resilience, scale, and trust. Additionally, BT announced its partnership as the official telecoms provider for the UEFA Euro 2028 tournament, set to take place across Britain and Ireland.

Pescatore underscored the significance of this deal in showcasing BT’s scale, relevance, and delivery capabilities. He noted that sport has a unique ability to unite nations, create shared experiences, and foster emotional connections, which aligns with BT’s broader vision of reconnecting with users, households, and businesses.
