A teenager in Arizona has been arrested and charged with murder and burglary after allegedly killing his 57-year-old neighbor, David Jimenez. Xzavion Johnson is accused of shooting Jimenez with a stolen gun during a robbery attempt on December 29. The victim’s body was found decomposed in the garden of his home two weeks later.
Johnson was reportedly squatting in Jimenez’s house for an extended period before police discovered the crime scene. When officers arrived for a welfare check on Jimenez, neighbors had suspicions that someone else was living in the house. Johnson’s mother informed the police that she hadn’t seen her son since the end of December, but she found a package addressed to him on Jimenez’s porch.
Upon investigation, police found Jimenez’s body in the garden and attempted to contact Johnson inside the house. Johnson barricaded himself for a while before surrendering to the authorities. He confessed to the crime, stating that he entered Jimenez’s property through an open gate and fatally shot him.
In another tragic incident, a three-year-old boy named Beckett Brown was fatally attacked by his grandmother’s American Bulldog at her residence. The grandmother, Kristen Nelson, tried to intervene but sustained injuries herself. Despite rushing Beckett to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The dog has since been euthanized, and there are no further safety concerns in the area.
Authorities determined that the boy climbed into the outdoor enclosure where the dog was kept, leading to the fatal incident near New York Mills, New York. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the tragic event.
