“Samsung TV Owners in UK to Enjoy Free UKTV Channels”

Samsung TV owners in the UK are set to receive a significant upgrade with new free content offerings. UKTV has announced that its popular free-to-air linear channels will soon be accessible on Samsung screens without the need for additional devices.

The channels will be streamed over the internet, eliminating the requirement for a traditional aerial setup. Samsung will also introduce a dedicated section on its home screen to showcase content from the U streaming service, making it easier for viewers to discover classic comedies, dramas, and factual shows without navigating through menus.

In the coming months, Samsung users will have direct access to channels such as U&DRAMA, U&Dave, U&YESTERDAY, U&W, and U&eden through a deep link from Samsung’s Universal Guide to the U app.

The rollout is expected to reach millions of Samsung TVs, with the channels being featured in the ‘Live’ tab and Universal Guide to enhance the visibility of UKTV’s live and on-demand content for internet-based TV users.

Jonathan Newman, General Manager of Commercial at UKTV and BBC Studios UK and Ireland, emphasized the strengthened partnership with Samsung, stating that the collaboration will improve accessibility to the U app and ensure broad visibility of UKTV’s content.

Dan Harvie, Vice President of Home Entertainment and Appliances at Samsung UK and Ireland, highlighted the importance of UKTV in enhancing the entertainment offerings on Samsung TVs. He expressed Samsung’s commitment to enhancing the entertainment experience for customers by providing access to a diverse range of broadcast content through partnerships like the one with UKTV.

Though an exact launch date has not been disclosed, the new features are anticipated to roll out on Samsung TVs soon, enhancing the viewing experience for users.
