“Spreading Christmas Cheer: Embracing Early Decorations”

This holiday season, I’ve opted to start decorating for Christmas earlier than usual. It’s a choice that often stirs up mixed reactions when shared on social media. Some may label it as eccentric or urge restraint, but in the end, it’s essential to prioritize personal joy over external opinions.

The decision to kick off the festive ambiance sooner this year stems from the proximity of both my birthday, just six days before Christmas, and my partner’s, a mere three days after mine. This timing typically leads us away from home during the usual Christmas buildup.

By setting up our decorations at the beginning of December, we extend the period to relish them fully. Their aesthetic appeal and the joy they bring make it a worthwhile endeavor to maximize their presence.

Amidst the prevalent negativity in the world today, I firmly believe that embracing early Christmas cheer can be a simple yet effective mood lifter. If such small gestures can spark immense happiness, why delay the festive spirit?

This act of early decoration isn’t harmful or offensive to anyone. If it displeases others, that burden rests on them. It’s a delightful way to elevate spirits, especially during a time when many find themselves spending more time at home.

Criticism aside, adorning your home for Christmas is an engaging and pleasurable activity. Pairing it with a cozy drink like mulled wine or hot chocolate enhances the experience, creating a festive atmosphere.

Embracing the season early becomes even more enticing as Christmas advertisements saturate the media and markets bustle with holiday fervor. Rather than resist, joining in the festive preparations can be a source of joy and community bonding.

Unpacking cherished decorations accumulated over the years evokes nostalgic sentiments and family memories. Each ornament, whether from past vacations, handmade by friends, or special collections like Jellycat, adds a personal touch to the festive display.

Our recent addition of a fresh wreath from a local festive market sets us apart as trendsetters on the block. Being the first to adorn our door with this festive symbol brings a sense of pride and joy.

If you find yourself in need of a holiday spirit boost, I encourage you to indulge in decking the halls. Crank up the Christmas tunes by Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, or Kelly Clarkson, and let the holiday magic envelop you. The warmth and cheer that follow will surely be worth it.

Remember, the spirit of Christmas is about spreading joy and creating lasting memories with loved ones. So, don’t hesitate to embrace the festive season early and revel in the magic it brings.
