A courageous woman has shared the harrowing account of her abduction by a vicious gang who planned to sell her virginity and internal organs. Lurata Lyon revealed the disturbing ordeal she endured, including being held at gunpoint and witnessing other girls being sexually assaulted to learn how to please men.
At the age of 17, Lurata’s nightmare began when she fled her hometown in Serbia to escape violence during the Yugoslav wars. After her village was invaded by a murder squad, she embarked on a treacherous journey to Kosovo seeking help from the Red Cross.
Rescued by two US soldiers, Lurata’s safety was betrayed by a local translator who alerted a human trafficking gang. Subsequently, she was kidnapped while innocently buying a magazine at a newsstand.
During captivity, she was threatened and subjected to horrific abuse, with the gang intending to sell her to the highest bidder. Despite facing constant danger and manipulation, Lurata remained resolute in her refusal to comply with the gang leader’s demands.
In a daring escape attempt, she found an opportunity to flee when left momentarily unattended. Running for her life, she was eventually rescued by a UN police officer after a dramatic confrontation with her captors.
Following a series of traumatic events, including being captured and abused by fake military personnel, Lurata’s father orchestrated her escape from captivity. She managed to reach the UK, where she sought asylum and eventually became a British citizen.
Reflecting on her ordeal, Lurata expressed gratitude for surviving and highlighted the importance of kindness despite enduring unimaginable trauma. She has since become a motivational speaker and a coach, empowering others through her remarkable journey of resilience and survival.
