Managing multiple pensions can be challenging, especially if you have a history of changing jobs frequently.
Recent research from the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) reveals that there is an estimated £31.1 billion languishing in unclaimed or forgotten pension accounts.
Despite the daunting figures, locating lost pension funds is achievable, as demonstrated by one individual who unearthed £10,000 in missing pension pots.
John Ferguson, a 32-year-old security professional residing in Edinburgh, successfully identified seven pension pots, two of which he was unaware of, using the Penny app.
Ferguson suspects there may be additional pensions awaiting discovery. He commended the Penny app, stating, “Penny was incredibly user-friendly. Minimal details are required for them to assist you.”

Reflecting on his experience, Ferguson shared, “One of the pensions I had completely forgotten about from when I was around 18. Using the Penny app, I simply input past employers, which led to the surprising discovery of a forgotten pension.”
