Scottie Scheffler Joins $100 Million Club

Scottie Scheffler has recently joined the prestigious $100 million club alongside golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy following his impressive victory at The American Express tournament. The current world No.1 showed early dominance in the new season, signaling to the reigning Masters champion that he will be a strong contender in the upcoming Major events.

Last year, Scheffler faced a setback when he injured his hand during Christmas while handling a wine glass. However, he has kicked off 2026 on a high note by clinching a decisive win in California with a final round score of six-under 66, finishing at 27-under par and securing a four-shot lead.

With this victory, Scheffler notched his 20th PGA Tour win, all achieved within the last four years, granting him a lifetime membership. Nine of his 20 wins were by a margin of four shots or more. His on-course earnings now total $101,109,136, placing him in the elite group of golfers who have earned over nine figures on the PGA Tour, alongside Woods and McIlroy.

At 29 years old, Scheffler has also made history by becoming one of the few players, alongside Woods and Jack Nicklaus, to achieve 20 PGA Tour titles and four majors before turning 30. Reflecting on his achievement, Scheffler humbly remarked, “It’s been a great start to my career. It’s been special. I try not to think about that stuff too much. I was just trying to do the things I needed to do to be prepared.”

Since his first win at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, Scheffler has outperformed McIlroy with 11 additional victories, totaling seven wins in his last 13 stroke-play events. Maintaining impressive consistency, he has not finished below T-8 since The Players last March.

Former world No.1 Jason Day, who finished joint runner-up, acknowledged Scheffler’s exceptional performance, likening his consistency to that of Tiger Woods. Day praised Scheffler’s ability to consistently contend at the top and remain hungry for success, highlighting the difficulty of sustaining such high levels of performance in professional golf.

Looking ahead, Scheffler remains determined to improve further, emphasizing that despite a slow start last season without a win until May, he believes there is still room for growth. As the Masters tournament looms in April, Scheffler’s competitors are on high alert as he continues to raise the bar in the world of golf.

A notable mention from the tournament was teenager Blades Brown, who played alongside Scheffler in the final group and expressed awe at witnessing Scheffler’s triumph. Brown, 18, reflected on the experience, stating, “To play with Scottie Scheffler and see him win it, that was insane. I had to pinch myself a couple of times just to make sure this was real.”
