Conservative Member of Parliament Larry Brock has announced his decision to step down from the House of Commons next month. Representing the Ontario constituency of Brantford—Brant South—Six Nations, Brock was elected to Parliament in both the 2021 and 2025 elections. Before his political career, he worked as an assistant Crown attorney.
In a social media post on Thursday, Brock revealed that he has accepted an opportunity to rejoin the Brantford Crown Attorney’s office, citing his return to the frontlines of justice. His resignation is set to become effective on September 18, as stated in the letter detailing his departure.
Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre expressed gratitude to Brock for his service as an MP, extending well wishes for success and happiness to Brock and his family. The Conservative Party secured the second-highest number of seats in the 2025 federal election, but has witnessed the departure of seven MPs, including Brock, from its federal caucus.
Among these departures, four Conservative MPs switched allegiance to join the governing Liberals: Chris d’Entremont, Michael Ma, Matt Jeneroux, and Marilyn Gladu. Additionally, former MP Richard Martel from the Quebec riding of Chicoutimi—Le Fjord was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Mark Carney in July.
Cathay Wagantall, a Conservative MP since 2015, is also resigning from her position representing Yorkton—Melville in Saskatchewan, with her resignation scheduled to take effect on August 31.
