“Travel Expert Declares Tallinn Best City in Europe”

Away from the well-known tourist hubs like Barcelona, Venice, or Dubrovnik is a lesser-known European city that a travel expert has acclaimed as the finest globally.

Henrik Jeppesen has journeyed to every nation worldwide, totaling 193 countries as classified by the United Nations. With over 2,000 destinations checked off his list, the 37-year-old has been exploring the world since his teenage years, amassing a wealth of insider insights and a comprehensive set of recommendations.

Originally from Thy in northwest Jutland, Denmark, Henrik, a father, is well-versed with Europe. Despite his extensive travels worldwide, there is one place he champions more than any other, just a brief flight of under three hours from London.

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, Henrik disclosed, “In my view, the top city in Europe is Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. It often goes unnoticed by European travelers, many of whom have yet to experience its charm.”

Highlighting what distinguishes Tallinn, Henrik praised its affordability compared to other major cities. He emphasized the allure of the Old Town, which he regards as the finest globally, with its well-preserved historic buildings creating a unique atmosphere.

Tallinn’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers excellent value for dining out, with Henrik mentioning enjoying quality meals at budget-friendly prices. He also appreciated the mix of local and Italian cuisine, along with the experience of shopping for fresh produce at the local market.

Beyond its culinary offerings, Tallinn boasts beautiful parks, a vibrant market, modern shopping centers, museums, attractions, and even a nearby waterfall. Henrik lauded the city’s relaxed ambiance, its modest size, and the pristine air quality, a rare find in bustling capitals.

Henrik also recommended the Tallinn card, providing free public transport and access to various museums and attractions. Visitors can explore nearby islands like Saaremaa and Hiiumaa, as well as the seaside town of Pärnu, known for its stunning beaches.

One of Tallinn’s standout features, according to Henrik, is the friendliness of its residents. He recounted a heartwarming incident where locals assisted him when he was lost, illustrating the city’s welcoming nature.
