Situated just a few miles from Sicily, it is home to the renowned Lungomare Falcomatà , considered the prettiest kilometer in Italy. The seafront promenade offers breathtaking views of the sea, the Strait of Messina, Sicily, and Mount Etna on clear days.
The promenade is adorned with magnificent sculptures, including towering magnolia trees and elegant buildings that complement the picturesque coastal views. Despite encountering rainy weather during a visit, the beauty of Reggio Calabria and its historical treasures, such as the Riace Bronzes housed in the National Archaeological Museum, remain undeniable.
Although the inclement weather hindered the full enjoyment of the city’s splendor, it only serves as an invitation to return and experience Calabria in all its glory.
