The US military has potentially added a weapon linked to the mysterious Havana Syndrome illness to its arsenal through a secret acquisition. The Department of Defence has reportedly been testing a device purchased after an undercover operation, aimed at addressing unexplained health issues affecting American spies, diplomats, and soldiers, commonly known as “Havana Syndrome” or officially as “anomalous health episodes.”
While the exact cause of this condition remains uncertain, prevailing theories suggest energy-based attacks via a specialized machine procured by the ICE department. Homeland Security Investigations, a division of the DHS, acquired this device, reportedly costing a significant sum, in the final days of the Biden administration. The device is now under the supervision of Pete Hegseth’s department, as reported by CNN.
Government officials are still debating the existence of Havana Syndrome as the device continues to be examined. The illness earned its name after the initial suspected case in 2016, involving US and Canadian officials in Cuba experiencing neurological symptoms such as loud noises, visual disturbances, headaches, memory issues, concentration problems, and tinnitus.
Initial beliefs pointed to a weapon capable of emitting high-frequency vibrations, initially attributed to foreign entities like Russia or Cuba’s government. According to sources, HSI claims to have obtained a weapon capable of emitting pulsed radio waves, reportedly of Russian origin and compact enough to be carried in a backpack. Testing is ongoing to determine its potential effects.
Individuals who believe they have been affected by Havana Syndrome see the acquisition of this device as validation of their concerns, which have often been dismissed following numerous investigations. Marc Polymeropoulos, a CIA officer who went public with his experience of Havana Syndrome in 2017, emphasized that if the government’s findings confirm the device’s nature, a public apology to the survivors would be warranted.
He stated, “If the [US government] has indeed uncovered such devices, then the CIA owes all the victims a significant and public apology for how we have been treated.”
