“Heated Rivalry” Season 2 Adds New Cast Members

In Season 2 of the hit series “Heated Rivalry,” two new actors, Justice Smith and Charlie Gillespie, are set to join the cast, as confirmed by Crave. Gillespie, known for his role in “One Night Only,” will portray Troy Barrett, a forward on the Ottawa Centaurs. On the other hand, Smith, recognized for his work in various films, will take on the role of Harris Drover, the social media manager of the Centaurs.

These characters, featured in Rachel Reid’s “Game Changers” series, particularly in the book “Role Model,” will be integrated into the storyline while continuing the focus on Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander from the first season. The casting decision aimed to find actors who could bring depth and authenticity to the characters, as highlighted by director Jacob Tierney and producer Brendan Brady.

Despite the excitement from some fans about the new cast additions, there has been criticism regarding Smith’s casting as Harris. Concerns have been raised about the deviation from the body description of Harris in the book, with some fans expressing disappointment at the missed opportunity for more body diversity representation on screen.

While reactions are mixed, with some fans eagerly anticipating the new season, others have voiced their concerns over the lack of inclusivity in body types portrayed on the show. The cast members, including Smith and Gillespie, have acknowledged the importance of accurately representing the characters and have expressed their commitment to delivering compelling performances.

The second season is scheduled for release in Spring 2027, with filming already underway. Fans are eagerly following the developments, with notable actors from the series gaining popularity. As production progresses, fans have been urged to respect the cast and crew’s space at filming locations.
