“Unlock Huge Savings on 2026 Vacations with Clever Tips”

As the British weather remains dreary and we look forward to the upcoming year, many are already planning their 2026 vacations. Fortunately, there are clever money-saving tips that could potentially save you thousands on your next holiday with just a few simple adjustments.

When you factor in transportation, accommodations, and spending money, costs can quickly accumulate. However, TUI has shared some essential saving strategies that can help you keep extra cash in your pocket, whether you’re dreaming of a European city escape or a sunny beach retreat.

To uncover the most cost-effective ways to book a holiday, First Choice, a part of the TUI Group, analyzed two years of booking data. They found that booking with slightly unconventional travel details, known as ‘Wonky holidays,’ can significantly reduce holiday expenses.

One key tip is to vary the length of your stay when traveling abroad. Instead of opting for the standard 7 or 14-night stay, consider booking a 6, 8, 13, or 15-night trip. First Choice discovered that travelers who booked an odd-numbered length of stay, such as 5 or 11 nights, saved up to 13% per night compared to those choosing traditional durations.

Additionally, choosing to fly on a Tuesday or Thursday instead of a Saturday could save around £70 per person. The travel group also suggests departing from the most economical airport rather than the closest one. By being flexible with departure or arrival airports, travelers could save substantial amounts, sometimes exceeding £1,000 per passenger.

Research conducted in collaboration with money-saving expert Jordan Cox revealed that making these minor, unconventional adjustments, such as opting for odd-length stays, midweek flights, or alternative airports, could lead to savings of up to £1,100 per person.

For instance, by switching flights from London Heathrow to London Luton and departing a week earlier, a 7-night stay at the Constantinou Athena Beach Hotel in Paphos, Cyprus, could cost £553 less per person, totaling only £947.

First Choice also noted that booking holidays during quieter months like January, March, early April, or mid-September is typically 16% cheaper than peak summer travel. Travelers can also benefit from additional deals available during off-peak times.

Jordan, the money-saving expert, emphasized the importance of flexibility in travel choices to unlock significant savings and potentially afford two trips for the price of one. Kevin Nelson, the managing director of First Choice, highlighted the company’s commitment to offering valuable and flexible travel options through ‘Wonky Holidays.’
