Russian Politician Warns Europe of US President’s Threats

A stern caution has been issued to Europe by a Russian nationalist politician amidst the urgent need for a response to recent threats made by the US President. Aleksey Zhuravlev, aged 63, expressed his concerns about leaders such as Donald Trump, whom he believes harbors an inflated sense of self-importance and has historically steered the world towards calamity. He suggested that if a conflict were to erupt with the US, Europe would seek refuge from Russia for protection.

This statement follows Trump’s reiterated claim that the US requires Greenland for national security reasons. European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen countered this assertion by affirming that Greenland rightfully belongs to its people and stated her communication with Denmark on this matter.

Zhuravlev, posting on Telegram, emphasized the seriousness of Trump’s intentions regarding global affairs, pointing out the ongoing actions in Venezuela and the recent territorial claims on Greenland. He criticized Trump’s perceived arrogance and warned of the detrimental impact such leaders with grandiose ambitions have historically had on the world.

As the deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defence committee, Zhuravlev previously suggested supplying nuclear-capable Russian missiles to Venezuela and Cuba in response to US actions in Venezuela. Recently, he advocated for retaliatory actions against the US, including sinking American Coast Guard boats, following an incident with a Russian-flagged vessel, emphasizing the potential use of nuclear weapons as part of Russia’s military doctrine.
