“Cartel Leader Urges Trump: Combat Corruption in Mexico”

A leader of a Mexican cartel has appealed to President Donald Trump to take action against corruption in Mexico. Cesar Alejandro Sepulveda Arellano, also known as ‘El Botox’ and identified as the head of Los Blancos de Troya, a faction of the Los Viagras cartel, made the plea in a video posted on social media. Arellano, wanted by authorities in both Mexico and the United States, urged President Trump to address the prevalent corruption and violence in Mexico. He also called for a halt to the deportation of Mexican migrants and advocated for their integration into the American workforce.

In the video, reportedly filmed while in hiding, Arellano directly addressed President Trump, stating, “If you are going to intervene in Mexico, please do so, as it is necessary. The Mexican government is corrupt and demands bribes unlike the U.S.” Arellano alleged that Mexican officials had extorted money from him on two occasions, totaling one million pesos, to allow his criminal activities to continue freely.

Furthermore, Arellano accused the Morelia prison in Michoacan, where his cartel operates, of being involved in drug trafficking. He criticized the government’s lack of action, particularly directing his comments at Carlos Torres Piña, the state’s government secretary. Arellano urged the U.S. government and the United Nations to investigate the Mexican government, labeling it as a major mafia responsible for perpetuating violence and poverty in the country.

In a separate online video, Arellano denied involvement in violent crimes and pleaded for the release of his detained wife and daughter following the murder of agricultural leader Bernardo Bravo Manriquez, who was killed after resisting extortion demands by criminal groups. The Michoacan Attorney General’s Office has accused Arellano of the murder and issued multiple warrants for his arrest, with a reward offered for information leading to his capture.

Los Blancos de Troya, associated with extortion, kidnapping, murder, and controlling agricultural territories, particularly in the citrus industry, has faced increased scrutiny for its criminal activities. Despite extraditing cartel leaders to the U.S. and collaborating on border security, President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico has rejected foreign military intervention. President Trump hinted at potential military actions against drug cartels, following recent operations in the Pacific and Caribbean regions.

In response to Trump’s offer to assist in combating cartels, Sheinbaum clarified on social media that any deployment of U.S. troops to Mexico was not being considered.
