“Tragic Carbon Monoxide Deaths at New Forest Cider Festival”

A tragic incident unfolded as a married couple was discovered deceased inside a camper van in New Forest, succumbing to carbon monoxide poisoning, as revealed in an inquest. Christopher and Kayleigh Coll, residents of Blandford Forum, Dorset, were found dead in their vehicle on October 12 while attending the New Forest Cider Festival in Burley. The duo, described as inseparable partners, left behind their four children, Shyla, Alex, Kaizer, and Emily, who are now under the care of relatives.

During a recent inquest at Winchester Coroners Court, details emerged that the camper van was utilizing gas heating, and despite efforts by paramedics, Christopher, 48, and Kayleigh, 38, could not be revived on-site. The preliminary cause of their demise was identified as carbon monoxide toxicity by Area Coroner Nicholas Walker, who postponed the proceedings until July 22, 2026. Following the heartbreaking incident, their family issued a statement honoring the couple as vibrant, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted parents to their children.

An online fundraiser on GoFundMe was established to support the children’s needs, garnering over £30,000 towards a £37,000 target. Mr. Coll, the proprietor of Mystacoll’s Spirit specializing in handcrafted copper art, crystals, clothing, and jewelry, had expressed excitement on Facebook prior to the cider festival. The family, reiterating their love for the couple, emphasized the importance of safeguarding and supporting their children while seeking privacy to mourn their loss.

Friends and well-wishers conveyed heartfelt tributes on social media, reminiscing about the couple’s warmth and compassion. Organizers of the festival also extended condolences, assuring that the tragic incident involving the couple was unrelated to the event and that authorities confirmed no suspicious circumstances.
