“Three Mobile Takes Lead as Fastest UK Network”

The recent performance evaluations of major mobile service providers in the UK have shown that Three Mobile is leading the pack in delivering high-speed internet for on-the-go streaming. Ookla’s latest tests revealed that Three outpaced its competitors with an impressive average download speed of 214Mbps, which is notably faster than other networks.

According to Ookla, Three’s strong overall speeds earned it the top position, surpassing Vodafone in second place and EE in third. O2, on the other hand, ranked lowest in speed across all categories, offering the slowest performance.

Ookla confirmed these results by awarding Three as the Fastest 5G Network in the United Kingdom for Q3–Q4 2025. The Speedtest Award is based on Speed Score, combining download and upload speeds with latency metrics to assess overall speed performance.

Here is a summary of the Ookla results:

– Overall Speed Score:
– Three: 53.46
– Vodafone: 43.05
– EE: 36.73
– O2: 30.70

– Median download speeds:
– Three: 214Mbps
– Vodafone: 129.78Mbps
– EE: 97Mbps
– O2: 78.92Mbps

– Median upload speeds:
– Three: 13.8Mbps
– Vodafone: 10.78Mbps
– EE: 10.96Mbps
– O2: 8.28Mbps

While the results showcase Three’s top-tier performance, it’s essential to note that testing mobile networks can be challenging due to users’ constant movement and varying network conditions. Despite these challenges, Three’s merger with Vodafone is expected to enhance performance further, with an £11 billion investment aimed at building the best mobile network in the UK.

Following the May merger, VodafoneThree has started integrating networks using Multi-Operator Core Network technology, enabling seamless connectivity for customers of both providers at no additional cost. This integration could lead to broader coverage and improved performance nationwide.
