“Ryanair Launches New Routes to Sunny Alicante”

Ryanair has added two new routes from the UK to a lively Spanish city known for its pleasant weather in December. The low-cost airline has expanded its schedule for Alicante, now servicing a total of 79 routes from this popular destination. Among the ten new destinations included are Bratislava, Linz, Salzburg, Bydgoszcz, Rzeszow, Stockholm Västerås, Småland, and Lanzarote.

Of particular interest to UK travelers are Ryanair’s new direct flights from Cardiff and Aberdeen to Alicante. The Aberdeen route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with fares starting at £22 in December. Meanwhile, the Cardiff to Alicante route will have nearly daily flights in December, currently priced at just £20.

Alicante’s appeal for a winter escape lies in its climate, with December temperatures reaching highs of 18C and occasionally hitting 23C on warmer days. This makes it ideal for relaxing on its golden beaches and escaping the gloomy UK weather.

Known for its 300 days of sunshine annually, Alicante is a favorite destination for golf enthusiasts across Europe. The city offers championship courses like Las Colinas and Lo Romero, along with resort courses such as La Finca and Melia Villaitana.

Apart from golf, Alicante offers a mix of old and new architectural styles, blending remnants of the civil war with modern constructions. The iconic Castle of Santa Bárbara dominates the city’s skyline, overlooking the old quarter where annual festivals take place.

Exploring the winding streets of the Old Town reveals an array of pubs, bars, cafes, and restaurants, showcasing the city’s fantastic architecture. The mosaic promenade of La Explanada de España, lined with palm trees and historic buildings, provides a picturesque setting for visitors.

Alicante’s efficient public transport system, including a tram service connecting the city center to the seafront, ensures easy access to major attractions. Popular beaches like Playa del Postiguet offer pristine sand, water activities, and nearby historical sites like the fortress accessible via a lift.

When it comes to dining, Alicante boasts numerous establishments serving regional cuisine at affordable prices. Restaurants like Santa Gloria, Bar Cento, and Café Tres Texturas are just a few worth exploring. For those craving British flavors, Browns offers traditional British-style cooking, catering to diverse culinary preferences.
