Passengers Evacuate Boeing Jet After Dramatic Tire Blowout

Newly released video footage captures the intense moment when passengers were forced to evacuate a Boeing aircraft following a sudden tire blowout during landing. The incident unfolded at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia, US, involving a LATAM Airlines flight from Peru. Images from the scene depict the Boeing 767-300ER surrounded by fire trucks as authorities launch an investigation to determine the cause of the tire failure.

Passengers aboard the plane experienced a jarring noise and violent shaking as the aircraft made contact with the runway. Liza Karseno, a passenger on the flight, expressed her gratitude for surviving the ordeal, emphasizing the safety of everyone over material possessions.

Concerns arose among passengers about the plane’s ability to come to a stop due to its high speed. Some individuals captured images of the damaged landing gear, including tires torn from their rims, and reported damage to the bathroom door and overhead storage compartments during the turbulent landing.

Emergency responders successfully evacuated all passengers without any reported injuries. The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department confirmed their swift response to a tire-related incident involving an aircraft at the airport.

The Boeing 767-300ER is a commonly used twin-jet aircraft by LATAM Peru for its extended routes between Lima and Atlanta, accommodating up to 221 passengers and crew members. The airline has been contacted for further comments on the incident.

In a separate incident last August, a British holidaymaker recounted a similar scare when a plane’s tire exploded during takeoff, prompting concerns about a safe landing. Despite the tense situation, passengers praised the crew’s professionalism and the pilot’s handling of the emergency, highlighting the rarity of such occurrences.
