The business owned by Nigel Farage’s partner, Laure Ferrari, which specializes in selling their unique brand of gin, is facing closure due to debts totaling £11,000, as per official records lodged at Companies House.
This development follows the revelation that the couple managed to save over £44,000 in stamp duty after Ferrari purchased Farage’s £900,000 residence in his constituency without a mortgage. Farage clarified that he did not provide financial assistance to Ferrari, emphasizing her financial independence due to her affluent background. He stated that the arrangement was practical and that Ferrari was fully capable of managing it herself.
Ongoing scrutiny by our investigative team has focused on Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, and his party. Questions have been raised regarding the ownership of a property in Clacton, purportedly owned by Farage but legally bought by Ferrari.
The couple, reportedly in a relationship since 2017, jointly launched Farage Gin in 2022. This gin range, featuring red, white, and blue spirits priced at £40 per bottle, gained attention. Despite promoting the gin on his website, Farage has not disclosed any earnings from the product since assuming office as an MP. Notably, the link to Farage Gin disappeared from his website last fall.
Although the gin was manufactured in Cornwall, it was distributed by Baxter Laois Limited, a company located in Southend, Essex, with Ferrari as the sole director and shareholder. Recent filings at Companies House indicate that the accounting firm associated with Baxter Laois has initiated the process to dissolve the company, revealing minimal assets and outstanding debts of £11,000 in the latest financial statements up to October 2024.
When questioned about the company’s closure, Farage stated that he had not issued any closure directives and intended to investigate the matter with Companies House and the accountant. In response to inquiries about the profits generated from gin sales, Farage declined to provide details, citing a lack of trust in the questioning party.
