Following a harrowing incident at a party in Dubai, a model who was brutally attacked and left for dead has shared her journey of recovery ten months later.
Maria Kovalchuk, a 21-year-old model from Ukraine, traveled to Dubai last year with aspirations of advancing her career. However, she found herself in a life-threatening situation after an assault that resulted in her being hospitalized in a coma with severe injuries.

After undergoing extensive rehabilitation as a war refugee in Trondheim, Norway, where her mother resides, Maria has demonstrated remarkable progress in her recovery, including relearning to walk after months of being wheelchair-bound. Despite the challenges she faced, Maria remains resilient and determined to move forward, although she and her family continue to receive threats.
Having undergone multiple surgeries and facing substantial medical expenses, Maria’s family revealed that Dubai police covered the costs, though the exact amount remains undisclosed.
