A tragic incident unfolded as a live streamer, Sergio Jimenez Ramos, passed away during a risky challenge involving cocaine and alcohol intended for exclusive paying viewers. Sergio was found lifeless in his room, his body stiff and his hand clutching a phone, with remnants of alcohol, energy drinks, and cocaine nearby.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Sergio’s residence in Vilanova i la Geltrú, near Barcelona, where the 37-year-old was pronounced dead early on December 31. Investigators suspect that his demise occurred during a private video session where subscribers paid to witness him consume excessive amounts of alcohol and drugs.
Prior to this fatal event, Sergio had been banned from multiple public streaming platforms due to violations related to drug use. In October, he had started participating in live streams and private video sessions organized by another streamer known for extreme stunts.
The streamer in question, Simón Pérez Golarons, denied any responsibility for Sergio’s death, emphasizing that he had cautioned Sergio about the risks involved. Sergio, who had a history of substance abuse and was undergoing psychiatric treatment, has left his family grieving and seeking justice.
Authorities are now investigating donations made to Sergio’s account to identify any potential involvement in the tragic outcome. Friends of Sergio have expressed anger towards those who facilitated the consumption of drugs and alcohol, attributing blame to them for his untimely death.
