“Greenland Resident Sparks Controversy with Pro-US Takeover Campaign”

The desire for a US takeover of Greenland is gaining momentum, with one resident issuing a stark warning to the UK. Jorgen Boassen, a 51-year-old bricklaying company owner known for his activism, is advocating for “Make Greenland American,” despite facing personal repercussions for his stance.

While President Trump argues that the acquisition would enhance security and be a straightforward process, opposition from Greenland is strong. The country’s Prime Minister has criticized Trump’s approach as bullying.

Greenland, with a population of fewer than 60,000, holds strategic importance within NATO and the EU. Boassen’s pro-US campaign has strained relationships within his own family and the community, leading to fear and division.

Boassen fears escalating tensions could lead to civil unrest, pointing to widespread gun ownership as a potential catalyst for conflict. He warns against external intervention, cautioning the UK and the EU to understand the situation before getting involved.

While Denmark asserts Greenland is not for sale, the dispute has strained US-Europe relations. UK’s Sir Keir Starmer has emphasized that Greenland’s fate should be determined by its residents and Denmark alone.

During a recent call, Sir Keir Starmer reiterated the importance of Greenland’s sovereignty to President Trump, emphasizing the need for respect for the wishes of Greenland and Denmark in deciding the territory’s future.
