A courageous father, Paolo Campolo, rescued ten young individuals from a devastating fire at a nightclub in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana. Campolo, alerted by his daughter, rushed to the scene and opened an emergency door, allowing panicked partygoers to escape as flames engulfed the building. Despite sustaining smoke inhalation, Campolo’s quick actions likely saved the lives of several young adults trapped in the inferno.
The main entrance was blocked by fleeing guests, but Campolo located a side exit, facilitating the escape of trapped revelers, including tourists from different European countries. Recounting the harrowing experience from his hospital bed, Campolo described the scene of injured and pleading victims, many of whom were youths.
The nightclub, popular among young patrons, became a tragic site as the fire claimed lives and left many injured, including individuals of various nationalities. Among those missing is a British-educated teenager, Charlotte Niddam, while others, like Campolo’s daughter, have been identified with injuries. The owners of the nightclub expressed deep distress following the incident and emphasized compliance with regulations leading up to the tragedy.
