Luke Littler jokingly entertained the idea of venturing into the I’m a Celebrity jungle if a staggering £50 million offer came his way, despite being put off by this year’s show. The 18-year-old darts prodigy has been closely following the current season to support his friend, Angry Ginge. Speculation arose about Littler’s potential participation after Ginge joined the ITV show lineup, with Littler indicating his openness to the idea if the financial incentive was right.
“I might consider it for the right price. I could go for a couple of weeks,” Littler mentioned in response to inquiries about following in Ginge’s footsteps. However, he has now clarified that the “right price” would have to be substantial, expressing less enthusiasm about joining the jungle hosts Ant and Dec after witnessing the challenges on the show.
During a recent talkSPORT interview, Littler confessed, “I initially said I would go if the money was right, but now, after seeing the challenges, I couldn’t do it, physically.” When asked if he would reconsider for £10 million, he declined. However, when the interviewer proposed a whopping £50 million, Littler’s response shifted to a tentative “maybe.”
Describing his aversion to the jungle environment, Littler mentioned, “It’s like being surrounded by snakes and such.” He humorously added, “You never know, I might be on a plane… No, I’m not!” While Angry Ginge prepares for upcoming trials, Littler gears up to defend his title at the PDC World Darts Championship at Ally Pally next month. Last year, he made history as the youngest world darts champion and now returns to the venue as the sport’s new world No 1.
Littler aims to follow in Gary Anderson’s footsteps by attempting to retain the Sid Waddell trophy, a feat not achieved in a decade. His title defense begins with a first-round match against Darius Labanauskas on December 11.
