Big Brother alum Henry Southan recently shared a harrowing experience where he was targeted by a masked thief attempting to steal his phone. Southan, 27, took to Instagram to recount the incident, revealing that the thief only managed to grab an empty box instead of his new phone during a visit to an O2 store for an upgrade.
Through his Instagram Stories, Southan narrated the event, stating, “Guys, little story time, I just upgraded my phone, I’ve been in O2 like all day. I was doing the transfer from my old phone to the new phone in store, and this masked man came into the shop and grabbed the empty box that my new phone was in and he ran out.”
Expressing his feelings of embarrassment for the unsuccessful thief, Southan remarked, “I felt such second-hand embarrassment for him, imagine, he’s just gonna see it’s an empty box, what a s**t thief he is.” He also noted that another person present at the scene referred to the thief’s accomplice as an “idiot.”
This incident follows another celebrity encounter with a phone thief involving Bridgerton actress Genevieve Chenneour, who no longer feels secure in London after being targeted. Chenneour and her boyfriend managed to subdue the thief during a dog walk back in February 2025. Feeling unsafe, she ultimately decided to move out of London due to the anxiety caused by the incident.
Actress Rosamund Pike also shared her distressing encounter with a phone thief, recalling a mugging incident in 2006 where she was punched by the perpetrator as he snatched her phone while she was on a call with her mother.
