Air Arabia is introducing a new route from London Gatwick to Sharjah in spring 2026, with a flight time of seven hours and 50 minutes, making it one of the longest budget airline journeys globally.
Despite being operated on single-aisle planes, these flights provide an affordable option for travelers to explore the Middle East, especially since Sharjah Airport is conveniently located just half an hour from Dubai. Skyscanner reports that tickets from London to Sharjah start at £182, and the pricing for the new route remains to be seen.
Air Arabia’s onboard experience resembles that of other budget airlines, with cabins featuring a single aisle and three seats per row. Passengers can choose from Basic, Value, or Ultimate packages, which may include extras like checked baggage, meals, and refreshments. While there are no seatback TVs, passengers can use the SkyTime app to access entertainment on their personal devices.
Notably, Air Arabia is a dry airline, meaning alcoholic beverages are not served onboard. This is in line with the regulations in Sharjah, where alcohol is restricted in public establishments. Travelers landing in Sharjah can also easily access nearby Dubai for their visit.
