Turkish Airlines Tops Europe’s Best Airlines List

The latest rankings from the World Airline Awards have been released, highlighting the top-performing airlines in Europe. Notably, prominent budget carriers like Ryanair and easyJet did not secure spots in the top 10.

Compiled by Skytrax, the list was based on customer feedback encompassing various aspects such as staff friendliness, cabin cleanliness, seat comfort, and website quality. Claiming the number one spot is Turkish Airlines, the national airline of Turkey, offering numerous routes from the UK to Turkish cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya.

Turkish Airlines received a four-star rating from Skytrax, commending the airline for providing a superior experience for short-haul flights compared to other legacy carriers in Europe and rivaling Middle Eastern competitors.

Another standout performer was Air France, operating flights from major UK cities to destinations including Paris. British Airways secured fourth place, while Virgin Atlantic followed closely in sixth place, serving passengers traveling to destinations like the USA, Canada, Korea, and India.

In a recent study on airline legroom, surprising results were revealed. Aer Lingus topped the list with 31-32 inches of leg space, followed by British Airways with 29-31 inches. Contrary to expectations, easyJet claimed the third spot with 29 inches, indicating that budget airlines do not necessarily offer less legroom than premium airlines.

On the other end of the spectrum, Wizz Air ranked lowest with a seat pitch of 28 inches, highlighting minimal differences in legroom between the best and worst performers in the economy class segment.
