A tragic incident unfolded as a four-year-old boy passed away following an incident where he was discovered unconscious in a swimming pool, prompting desperate CPR efforts by family members. The heartbreaking event occurred on the evening of Friday, January 9 in Bobs Farm, located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Emergency services were immediately summoned to the scene in an attempt to save the boy’s life.
Despite the swift response from police and ambulance crews who frantically tried to revive the boy, he was swiftly transported to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition. Regrettably, despite all endeavors, the young boy, whose identity remains undisclosed, succumbed to the incident just days after Christmas.
According to a statement from a New South Wales Police spokesperson, the boy was retrieved unconscious from a pool in the state’s mid-north coast area. The authorities were alerted around 7:30 pm on Friday, January 9, and upon arrival, family members had already initiated CPR until paramedics from NSW Ambulance took over. The child received immediate treatment at the site before being transferred to John Hunter Hospital, where he later passed away.
Officers from the Port Stephens/Hunter Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with a comprehensive report set to be prepared for the coroner.
