Members of the Mar-a-Lago golf club associated with Donald Trump are reportedly joining forces to expel a fellow member from the Palm Beach club. This decision comes after the said member appeared in the Netflix series “Members Only: Palm Beach.”
The show revolves around various affluent individuals from Florida, representing both ‘new’ and ‘old’ money circles. These socialites, who are sometimes friends and sometimes rivals, engage in social events and gatherings vying for prominence in Palm Beach. One cast member featured in this Netflix reality series is Rosalyn Yellin, who is also a member of Mar-a-Lago.
Although Mar-a-Lago is prominently mentioned in the series as a key hub for gaining recognition and connections in Palm Beach, filming was not permitted on the premises. Consequently, other club members are reportedly planning to expel Rosalyn following her appearance on the show.
Sources have revealed that certain members intend to collectively submit a letter requesting the revocation of Rosalyn’s membership due to their disapproval of the show, which they perceive as “cheesy.” Criticism has also been directed at the cast, with one individual claiming that the cast members, competing for the title of Queen of Palm Beach, lack significant recognition in the area.
Additionally, remarks were made disparaging the appearance and representation of the cast on the show, labeling it as the “polar opposite of Palm Beach.” Furthermore, it was pointed out that none of the cast members actually reside in Palm Beach, further fueling discontent among the club members.
Despite the backlash, Rosalyn regularly showcases the club on her Instagram, sharing pictures including one with President Trump. She is also scheduled to host a charity brunch at Mar-a-Lago soon.
In response to the brewing controversy, Rosalyn expressed disappointment over the misrepresentation of the show, emphasizing her focus on philanthropy and charitable endeavors within the club over the past four years. She highlighted that the show’s portrayal diverts attention from the substantial charitable work being carried out.
The Netflix series, which premiered on December 29, features other personalities such as Hilary Musser, Taja Abitbol, Ro-mina Ustayev, and Maria Cozamanis. Maria, in particular, was shown in emotional moments throughout the show and recently addressed the reasons behind her tears during filming.
During a Q&A session with Ro-mina, Maria explained that her emotional displays stemmed from personal struggles, including undergoing therapy and dealing with emotional upheavals in her life at the time of filming.
