British Airways to Increase Reward Flight Prices

British Airways has recently announced a significant change that will affect its loyal customers just before the busy holiday travel season. Starting from December 15, 2025, the airline will be increasing the prices of Reward Flights, impacting both the Avios points and cash components of the fare. Reward Flights are flights booked using Avios points.

The price adjustments will apply to all British Airways flights and its partner airlines. The airline attributed the price hike to rising Air Passenger Duty, third-party charges, and ongoing inflation. British Airways shared examples of the price increases on its website, such as a return trip from London to New York during off-peak times where Avios points required will increase by up to 14,000.

In an email sent to customers on December 3, British Airways explained the reasons for the changes, mentioning factors like Air Passenger Duty, increased third-party charges, market conditions, and inflation. The airline emphasized that existing bookings made before December 15 will still be honored at the current rates if changes are made before that date.
