Samsung has issued a crucial update for Galaxy phone users to address multiple vulnerabilities, including a ‘critical’ flaw that hackers are actively exploiting. The company’s latest patch tackles over 11 issues identified on these widely-used devices, with one vulnerability labeled as ‘Severity: Critical.’ Samsung has warned that this specific flaw could allow remote attackers to execute unauthorized code. According to Samsung, hackers have already been leveraging this vulnerability in the wild.

Exploiting such vulnerabilities could enable cybercriminals to install malicious software or gain unauthorized access to a device, potentially leading to data theft or unauthorized surveillance. Recognizing the severity of the situation, Samsung has expedited the release of the patch. Owners of Galaxy phones are strongly advised to promptly update their devices to ensure protection.

In response to the security update, Jamie Akhtar, CEO and Co-founder of CyberSmart, emphasized the importance of addressing these vulnerabilities promptly to prevent potential malicious activities. Akhtar highlighted the significant risk posed by leaving such security flaws unaddressed, which could compromise devices and lead to data breaches.

A list of Samsung Galaxy phone models eligible for monthly updates includes Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, Galaxy S21 FE 5G, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy A56 5G.

To update the software on a Samsung Galaxy phone, users can navigate to Settings, select Software update, and then proceed with Download and install. It is advisable to ensure that the device’s battery is sufficiently charged before initiating the update process.
