Sky TV users are in for some disappointing news as a recently introduced product is set to be discontinued starting next month. Introduced in 2023, Sky Live was promoted as a cutting-edge entertainment gadget aimed at revolutionizing TV usage. This device, designed to connect to Sky’s Glass TV, offers various interactive features through motion sensors and a built-in camera. Subscribers paying £6 per month could access interactive games like Fruit Ninja, Stingray Karaoke, and Peppa Pig: Jump and Giggle, along with fitness monitoring capabilities.
In addition to gaming, Sky Live allowed users to make Zoom calls and host group viewings of content like Sky Sports using the device’s camera. Despite its innovative features, the device has not gained the expected traction, leading to its discontinuation on December 4.
While Sky Live will be phased out, Sky assures users that games like the recently launched Who Wants To Be A Millionaire will still be available without an additional subscription. A spokesperson from Sky highlighted their commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, emphasizing the company’s focus on delivering faster, simpler products, exceptional content, and superior service.
Affected customers can expect to receive email notifications detailing the upcoming changes, including information on refunds and the process for returning the accessory with free postage. This move reflects Sky’s dedication to enhancing the overall user experience and aligning their product offerings with customer preferences.
