A tragic incident occurred at a popular tourist spot in Thailand as a young man lost his life while attempting to take selfies with his girlfriend. Alexis Vergos, a 22-year-old tourist from France, slipped on wet rocks and fell to his death while admiring the Na Muang 2 Waterfall on Koh Samui island.
His girlfriend immediately contacted emergency services, but Alexis could not be located in the waterfall. Rescuers eventually found his body wedged between rocks. It was determined that Alexis suffered a fatal head injury from the fall.
Local authorities mentioned that warning signs in both Thai and English had been placed in the area to prevent such accidents. Despite previous incidents, safety measures like installing fences and restricting access to high-risk areas will be reinforced to enhance visitor safety.
The Na Muang 2 Waterfall has been a picturesque yet perilous location, with several past tragedies involving tourists slipping and falling to their deaths while taking photos. The authorities are working closely with relevant parties to address safety concerns and prevent similar incidents in the future.
