Holly Willoughby in Legal Battle Over £8M Home Expansion

Holly Willoughby is currently embroiled in a legal dispute regarding her £8 million extravagant residence. The 44-year-old former host of This Morning is reportedly seeking to expand her property by appealing to extend it, having already received approval for a gym and a cinema.

The mother of three, who acquired the six-bedroom family home with her spouse, TV producer Dan Baldwin, 51, after moving from their previous £3 million Edwardian house in London, is allegedly aiming to enhance the ‘heritage’ property. Holly and Dan are purportedly interested in constructing a ‘link infill extension’ between their main house and an outbuilding on the premises.

The couple bought the estate in 2024 and had previously been granted permission to construct a gym, cinema, and a ground floor link to the house. However, their recent request for further expansion has been criticized as ‘overly dominant’ and ‘inappropriate,’ leading Holly and Dan to file an appeal, according to reports.

Reportedly, the pair has lodged an appeal in an effort to secure approval for their proposed modifications, arguing that the extension would make optimal use of the available space.

Holly and Dan acquired the property in July 2024 following a disturbing kidnap and murder plot incident in London, prompting their relocation with their three children. The perpetrator, Gavin Plumb, a security guard, was stopped by authorities before executing his plan and was subsequently convicted, receiving a life sentence with a minimum of 16 years.

Following the traumatic experience, Holly made the decision to depart from her long-standing role on This Morning after 14 years. Reflecting on the event, she emphasized the importance of focusing on positivity amidst adversity.

In a separate incident last year, Holly pleaded guilty to causing an accident by knocking a man off his scooter. The court heard that she failed to indicate while turning right, resulting in a collision with the scooter rider near her residence. The victim sustained injuries, including a fractured vertebra and a broken toe.

As a result of the incident, Holly received a fine, penalty points on her driving license, and was ordered to cover legal costs. Her defense lawyer attributed the incident to a momentary lapse in judgment, expressing Holly’s deep regret for the incident.

The Mirror has reached out to Holly’s representative for comment on these developments.
