Police intervened on an EasyJet flight heading to Egypt, leading to the cancelation of the trip due to disruptive passengers. The flight, EZY3077, scheduled to depart from Belfast International Airport on January 3, was postponed until the following morning. EasyJet emphasized their zero-tolerance policy towards disruptive behavior on flights, stating they take such incidents seriously.
The presence of unruly passengers caused a delay that extended beyond the crew’s regulated operating hours, prompting the flight’s cancellation. EasyJet’s cabin crew is trained to promptly address disruptive situations to ensure the safety of all passengers. In response to the incident, affected customers were provided with hotel accommodations and meals.
A representative from EasyJet mentioned that the disruptive behavior by a group of passengers necessitated police intervention before the flight’s departure. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the rescheduling, reaffirming their commitment to prioritizing customer and crew safety.
In collaboration with the Belfast International Airport Constabulary, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) assisted in managing the disembarkation of passengers from the flight.
