The movie, originally filmed for a standard 4:3 screen, was transformed into a captivating journey down the Yellow Brick Road, providing an immersive experience that transports viewers alongside Dorothy and her companions. The film’s original score was re-recorded with enhanced clarity, utilizing The Sphere’s advanced sound technology to create a modernized version of this timeless cinematic masterpiece.
Experiencing The Sphere’s 360-degree environment was truly remarkable. The venue boasts a 160,000 square-foot interior LED screen, the highest resolution in the world, and offers a 4D experience that goes beyond visual effects. During the screening, audiences are enveloped in various sensory elements, from swirling winds and falling leaves to flying butterflies and cascading apples, creating an interactive and dynamic viewing experience.
While I enjoyed the movie presentation at The Sphere, I believe its true potential lies in hosting live concerts. The venue’s innovative technology and immersive setting would undoubtedly elevate the concert experience to new heights.
The exterior of The Sphere is a prominent feature on the Las Vegas Strip, particularly at night when it illuminates the skyline. The venue serves as a canvas for advertising, with companies investing millions to showcase their brands on its exterior. During the Las Vegas Grand Prix, The Sphere transformed into a giant chequered flag, celebrating Max Verstappen’s victory and captivating race fans in attendance.
The Grand Prix Plaza, home to the FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX, will reopen for visitors on January 30, 2026. Additionally, accommodations at the NOBU Hotel Las Vegas at Caesars Palace start at $238 per night, excluding taxes.
