“Darts Drama: Joe Cullen Criticizes Mensur Suljovic”

Joe Cullen has taken to social media to criticize Mensur Suljovic, accusing the experienced darts player of dishonesty. Cullen, from Bradford, faced a disappointing loss to Suljovic in a tense second-round match at the World Darts Championship.

Suljovic made an impressive comeback after losing a set to defeat Cullen 3-1 at Alexandra Palace. Throughout the game, Cullen was visibly impatient, checking his watch sarcastically and muttering “hurry up” while the 53-year-old prepared to throw.

Known for his slower pace compared to other players, Suljovic’s deliberate style and extended celebrations seemed to aggravate Cullen, who expressed his frustration both during the match and in a tense post-game handshake.

Following the match, Cullen didn’t hold back on social media, stating, “If that’s darts, I don’t want any part of it! Always liked Mensur away from the board, but that behavior was unacceptable!”

Responding to Cullen’s outburst, Suljovic seemed puzzled and unapologetic, stating, “I have never apologized to Joe Cullen personally. I play my game on that stage. Everyone has their own style.”

When questioned further about the incident, Suljovic defended his actions, saying, “I don’t understand his concerns. I play my game as I see fit. I may celebrate and show emotions, but that’s part of who I am.”

In the upcoming round, Suljovic may face world champion Luke Littler. Littler, an 18-year-old, is set to compete against David Davies, an NHS area manager, in his next match.

The PDC World Darts Championship commences on December 11, and fans can catch all the action live exclusively on Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
