Donald Trump has shared his thoughts on his recent stay at Windsor Castle as a guest of the King, including his opinions on the state banquet menu. The US president, along with his wife Melania, spent the night at the royal residence after a day of engagements with Charles, which concluded with a lavish state banquet in St George’s Hall.
During the banquet, Trump sat beside the Princess of Wales and dined on a menu that featured Hampshire watercress panna cotta, organic Norfolk chicken ballotine wrapped in courgettes, and a bombe glacee cardinal for dessert, which likely pleased his sweet tooth.
Reflecting on his stay at the castle, Trump remarked to reporters that he had seen an abundance of paintings and sculptures, more than he believed any person had ever seen. When asked about the banquet menu, he humorously replied that he had consumed whatever was served to him at the event, attended by prominent individuals from around the world.
Regarding his favorite part of the UK trip, Trump expressed his admiration for King Charles, whom he described as a wonderful person. He appreciated the hospitality extended to him and his country, emphasizing the respect shown during the visit, particularly at the elegant banquet attended by distinguished guests.
Trump also mentioned that Melania enjoyed her time with the Princess of Wales, emphasizing her greatness and resilience. He praised both King Charles and Prince William, highlighting the positive interactions he had with them during the trip.
Upon bidding farewell to the King, Trump warmly shook hands with Charles, expressing gratitude and admiration for his host. The two engaged in friendly conversation, with Trump complimenting Charles as a great gentleman and a great King.
